Prescription Dysport, is an injection used to temporarily decrease or remove moderate to severe lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) caused by repeat movements such as frowning and squinting. Dysport is similar to Botox^® although results are visible after just a day or two compared to three to five days. Also, the end result lasts between six and twelve months as oppose to three to six.

In some cases, patients have developed antibodies to the drug preventing it from taking effect, although this is rare. Other potential side effects include swelling and burning around the injection site; this can be prevented by applying ice before and after the procedure. Be sure to tell your doctor if you have any kind of disease which affects your muscles and nerves; patients with certain diseases have a higher chance of developing side effects to Dysport. Dysport is a purified formulation that has been shown to deliver temporary improvements in moderate to severe frown lines, even with repeat treatments. The effect of repeat treatment may be comparable to your first use.*

Anesthesia is not required but your doctor may numb the area if you wish.
